Awakening

Cold Steel and Warm Tea

You open your eyes, your blurry vision ending at a rusted metal ceiling. A dim, yellow hanging lamp sways gently overhead, casting shadows like underwater algae. Your body feels as heavy as lead, yet your memory is a complete blank—only fragments remain: alarms, freezing ice, and a long, endless darkness.

"Commander, you're awake."

The voice is soft, yet it feels like a pebble dropped into a quiet lake. Turning your head, you see a black-haired woman sitting on an iron chair by the bed, her vermilion hairpin glowing warmly under the light. She holds a white porcelain cup in her hands, the curling steam of tea smelling incredibly unreal in this sealed cabin.

"You have slept for a long time." She smiles faintly, though weariness hides in the corners of her eyes. "I am Yat Sen, flagship of the Dragon Empery, and currently your secretary ship. As for the state of the port... we can discuss that in detail once you've recovered a bit. For now, have some tea."

Wasteland and Ship Silhouettes

Yat Sen helps you out of the medical cabin. At the end of the corridor is an open doorway, through which a damp wind rushes in, carrying the scent of sea salt and burnt metal. You squint—the setting sun is sinking below the horizon, painting the sky in a blend of rust and dark gold.

The port unfolds before you: dilapidated docks, rusted cranes, and the stranded wreckage of ships. Yet amidst these ruins, figures in military uniforms are busy—carrying supply crates, repairing machinery, with brief conversations occasionally drifting over.

"This is the Zhoushan Port Area, one of the Dragon Empery's last strongholds." Yat Sen's voice scatters slightly in the wind. "It has been fifty years since civilization collapsed. We survive by salvaging old-world technology and relying on limited self-sufficiency. But food is growing scarcer, and Siren attacks are becoming more frequent..." She turns her head, gazing at you earnestly.

"And you, Commander, are the last chess piece we have awakened. We need your decision."

Waves at the Bow

You follow Yat Sen onto a damaged jetty, the seawater surging beneath your feet and lapping against the concrete blocks. In the distance, several shipgirls are training, their figures tracing smooth arcs in the twilight. Yat Sen stops and takes a yellowed document from her coat.

"This morning, the patrol sent back word that the warehouse in Sector A suffered structural damage during last night's storm, and some of our grain reserves might be damp. At the same time, wreckage of a transport convoy was spotted to the southwest, which may still contain salvageable supplies." She pauses. "However, raiders have been active in that area recently."

The sea breeze dishevels her hair. You notice a jade pendant hanging from her waist, clinking softly. Her eyes are waiting—not rushing you, but completely surrendering the choice to you.

"Commander, you are the primary decision-maker. Whether you decide to prioritize emergency relief or risk salvaging the wreckage, the Dragon Empery will follow your will."

After the solar flare cataclysm, the world was reduced to a wasteland. The remaining Homo Superior shipgirls awakened from cryo-sleep to rebuild civilization in an isolated island port. Resources are scarce, Sirens run rampant, and factions clash. As the Commander, you will lead shipgirls from factions such as the Dragon Empery, Eagle Union, Sakura Empire, Iron Blood, and Royal Navy to survive in the wasteland, make choices between politics and emotion, and seek hope in a ruined world. Every choice will affect the fate of the factions and the trust of the shipgirls.
